Swimming is a fantastic alternative to wakeboarding while expecting. It’s extremely safe and beneficial for you. When you swim, the water makes you feel a little lighter and could help relieve your neck and back pains.

You won’t get too hot, and there’s no chance of falling as with wakeboarding. Swimming works out your whole body without being too hard on your joints. Plus, being in the water can be fun and relaxing.

2. Paddleboarding 

With this, you stand on a large surfle board and try to move around with a paddle. It’s more comfortable than wakeboarding because there’s less to no chances of falling and getting injured. Current research on this activity says that it enhances balance and muscles, which can be perfect for preggy moms.  Don’t forget to stick to calm waters and choose bigger paddles to help you balance better.

3. Kayaking or canoeing

Canoeing or kayaking are excellent options as well to enjoy the water instead of wakeboarding. These types of activities focus on supple slides across the water, which means you’re unlikely to fall and injure yourself.

You’re able to go at your own pace and that means you can keep it nice and easy. Additionally, canoeing or kayaking is fantastic for strengthening the shoulders and arms.

4. Aqua aerobics

Aqua Aerobics is another fantastic choice for pregnant women looking for alternatives to wakeboarding. It’s basically about participating in a fun workout class, but in water this time!

5. Walking on the water

This is the easiest among the options. You just walk through a shallow-deep pool. It’s very low-impact, which means it won’t hurt your joints. Additionally, the water helps you feel lighter and can relieve the expanding belly.

Water walks help to keep your heart and legs healthy without a chance of getting too hot or slipping down. Before you begin, though, it’s perfect to consult your obstetrician to ensure it’s okay for you and your baby.
